Gregor von dem Knesebeck
Managing Partner
Based in Munich, Gregor is responsible for K5´s investments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, in particular in the publishing space. He is acting director of Grin.com and bilandia.de, having founded the latter in 2007. Before that he worked in technology consultancy, advising Internet portals. Gregor obtained an MPhil in Analytical Philosophy, Logic and Theory of Science in Munich, Madrid and Freiburg.
Philipp von dem Knesebeck
Managing Partner
Based in Hong Kong, Philipp is in charge of K5′s early-stage Venture Capital transactions, specifically focusing on originating, executing and syndicating transactions across the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining K5, he was employed with UniCredit Bank based in Munich, London and Hong Kong, primarily responsible for sourcing and executing financing solutions for Private Equity-backed Leveraged Buyout transactions. Philipp obtained a Bachelor degree in Economics from City University (London, UK) and a Masters degree in Finance from Cass Business School (London, UK).
Dr. Julia von dem Knesebeck
Managing Partner
Based in London, Julia is responsible for K5’s investments in the UK. As a director and co-founder of bilandia.de she is specialised in Sales and Social Media Marketing. Before joining K5 she co-founded bilandia GmbH in 2007, Germany’s leading Social Media Marketing agency for the Publishing Industry. She has previously worked for L.E.K., a leading financial and market consultancy, based in London. Julia studied at Cambridge University and has a PhD from Oxford University.
Dr. Rüdiger Schulze
Managing Director
Based in Munich, Rüdiger is responsible for K5´s early stage Venture Capital investments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Before joining K5 he founded SPOX Media in 2007 and invested in several startups as Business Angel. Prior to that he worked for ProSiebenSat.1 Media Group between 2000-2006, co-ordinating the Group´s diversification business as MD of several entities. 1994-2000 he worked for KPMG. Rüdiger obtained a PhD in political economies from the University of Tübingen.
Dr. Julius Neuberger LL.M.
Investment Manager
Based in Munich, Julius is responsible for the legal structuring of K5´s investments. Julius is specialized in financing structures as well as corporate transactions. Before working with K5 Julius was with a major international law firm performing private equity and finance law. He obtained a Ph.D. as a scholarship holder of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and holds a LL.M.
Matthias Baumann
Associate
Based in Munich, Matthias applies his strong technical and research skills to e-commerce, social media and mobile projects. Before joining K5 he worked for IBM Global Business Services. Matthias studied IT and Sociology at the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland).
